So, it has been a week since GenCon ended for the year and I have been thinking over how this year was different over previous years. What I’ve discovered is, this year wasn’t defined by what was present but by what was absent.

A warm and genuine thank you to all of those who took part in GenCon Bingo. This year’s quest to take many pictures that showcased the wide variety of the full-spectrum nerddom that is GenCon hopefully ended in some modest success. Congratulations are in order
Alack alack, it has come to an end. Just because Sunday is the final day of the convention doesn’t mean that there’s nothing going on; gaming continues and the exhibit hall thrums with life. We have snapped a few more pictures that document a little more of what we saw this year. Don’t forget to submit your scores with by 10:30 pm central time Monday, August 08, 2011. Best of luck to you all.
OK…we’re in the midst of trying to check out of the hotel before heading back for one final day at the convention, but wanted to get you the last of the Saturday pictures.
GenCon on Saturday sees some big events from tournament finals to the gigantic costume contest and parade. The exhibit hall is thrumming with gaming and commerce. Today I tried out “Little Dead Riding Hood” from Twilight Creations, a fairy tale themed tile placing board game. We’ve seen some very cool things, and we’ve taken a few pictures. The weather has been temperate and the sun has not been shining very brightly so it’s unlikely that I’ll spot overheated cosplayers or sunburned attendees (sorry if those were the only squares that you were missing).
