Last Friday, I received a preview copy of The Shadowfell: Gloomwrought and Beyond from Wizards of the Coast. I was extremely excited to have been sent this as I love horror role-playing, and The Shadowfell is full of frightening and disurbing opportunities to throw at players.
Wizards of the Coast has announced that the new season of D&D Encounters: Dark Legacy of Evard is going to be begin on Wednesday, May 11th. Make sure to mark your calendars.
How many times have you been in a gaming session and someone pronounces the name of a D&D race, character, or place in a way that makes you think you have been reading different books? I am not talking about cases where the person was trying to be funny, read something incorrectly, or has a regional accent different from yours. Examples of this from my own experience include “homonuclei” instead of “homonculi”, or “salad” instead of “slaad”; yes, I really have heard both of these in gaming sessions. I am talking about cases where you realize that you really have no clue how to pronounce the name.
Recently, I purchased the "Monster Manual" for Dungeons & Dragons 4th edition and had mixed feelings towards it. As I have stated in the past, I am a late adopter to 4th edition but, as they say, "better late than never".
