I am in the process of writing a script (for the setting, the actors will be doing improv) in preparation for my first run of Directors Cut: Survival Horror. My wife has just finished with her residency at a hospital in another city, so that gives me a couple of weeks to work on the script while she unpacks and gets settled back in.
I am trying to keep the group small for the first session while I get the hang of the extremely simple mechanics. My biggest challenge will be just running with things to keep the action and tension high rather than saying, “I’m not sure, lets check the rules”. Since many of the decisions are left up to the Director, I can just go with what seems appropriate at the time. However, coming from a background of other RPGs, this is a new concept for me.
I don’t want to go into too many details of the of the movie that I plan on running yet, as I do not want any of the players to accidentally stumble upon it before they have a chance to play. But I will provide some generalizations. I intend to use the heavily clich
