I planned on having this posted over the weekend, but "real life" conspired against me. If you haven’t read my posts covering the first session and second session you should probably check those out first or this post probably will not make much sense.

Since my Dungeons & Dragons group is meeting a week early, I suppose I should post the exploits from the last session now or I’ll be behind. If you missed the first session (hosted by the always entertaining Vanir of Critical Hits, be sure to check it first so that this chapter makes sense.

As of Thursday night, I have joined a newly formed Dungeons & Dragons group. This group includes a couple of members from groups that I was previously in, including Vanir from Critical-Hits.com as the Dungeon Master, so it was pretty easy to get into the game. This is a good thing as I’ve only played 4th Edition three times, the last time was at Gen Con last year, and I haven’t played any role-playing game on a regular basis for about 2 years. That’s not to say that I haven’t been role-playing, just not on a regular basis.

Today in my e-mail, I received an announcement from D&D Insider about the upcoming changes to their Character Builder software. While most of these changes seem like a great step in the right direction, I do have a few questions that were not answered in the brief message.

Yep, that’s right, the wizards’ reliable, never-missing friend is back! Of course, Magic Missile never went away, but it had been seriously nerfed in the Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition rules. I you find this too good to be true, feel free to check the last article in the July issue of Dragon Magazine or the errata PDF for yourself.
